I'm Tired

This has been a very busy week and I'm tired!

Isaiah 40: 28-31

28 Do you not know?Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God,the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Excellent, verses that I'm sure I will be reading a lot in the coming month that is so full of travel and business. The secret is choosing to stop and in the quiet stillness to turn my heart toward God and renew my hope in Him

Your prayers are so encouraging and I'm so thankful for each of them. This week has flown by and with it the Gebauers have flown off to the Solomon Islands leaving David and Mark behind. I asked that you pray for the transition and your prayers have been answered, it has been very smooth moving Mark and David in and we are enjoying a good Friday :).

This morning we went to the P.B.T. (where my wife works) brunch and enjoyed watching our kids hunt for eggs and play, now we are home finishing up cleaning and organizing the chaos that has been put to the side while other more important things were dealt with. Silly little things like mail and the remnants of a house recently vacated. It's funny the things that get left behind like half a bottle of Windex, well it has a home here with the other bottle of Windex we got last time the house was vacated. I guess I need to clean more windows? Any way it's one of those days where the time sleepily goes by and before you know it it's time to head off to Good Friday service and then bed. Nothing like a good three day weekend to help one rest up.

I got to spend a lot of time with my brothers and sisters in law before they left. My contribution was watching the kids while those more skilled then I packed and sorted the remaining articles in the house. It was great  getting to have that time with them!

I felt very sad on Tuesday! Saying good bye is hard to do, even for an MK who has been doing it his whole life! However, God had a great surprise in store for me.

Being a youth pastor for the Dallas MK has its perks, one of which is getting tickets to sporting events every once in a while when the home team is trying to sell out the stadium for a big game. Tuesday night we got tickets to watch the Mavericks play the Clippers but I had turned the ticket down because that was the day the Gebauers were leaving and I wanted to be completely free to do whatever I needed to do that day. Well it turned out that they were  leaving a little earlier then I had thought.

I walked into childcare to drop off Asher and Liam Tuesday morning and one of the MK Moms who works there asked me, out of the blue, if I wanted to take her kid and his friends to the game that night. I couldn't believe how perfectly God set this whole thing up. If I had already been planning on going I wouldn't have been free to help her out and I wouldn't have been able to spend all that great time with her son and his friends. It was a great evening capped off with a Mavericks win in over time. God is so good!

Happy Easter to you all! I hope you enjoy whatever services and traditions you participate in and I hope that God fills your heart with joy and courage as you think about the incredible gift he has given you in his resurrected son.

Death has lost its sting we have the victory because...

He is risen!

I know many of you just said

He is risen indeed!

Amen!

Prayers!

That my family will truly find rest this week and that we will be well prepared for our trips in weeks to come. That Mark and David are able to feel at home with us and thrive during their time here.

For my parents who are in the midst of war in C.A.R. My heart aches for them and their safe travel out of the war and to a nice spot where they can find rest.

Praises!

I find so much joy in my ministry and how God has blessed it!

I praise God for you!

I always enjoyed the sunrise service growing up in Congo; looking out over the river and hearing "up from the grave he arose with a mighty triumph o'er his foes"  ring out was truly majestic and got me in the Easter mood. Now I am looking forward to Easter brunch and egg hunt at church and when I get home having ham and Hawaiian rolls while still singing "up from the grave he arose with a mighty triumph o'er his foes" and letting it ring out over my living room. Easter is Easter, no matter where you are it's about how Jesus Christ kicked death right in the teeth and rose again for us, and while I type this it still brings a tear of joy to my eye... thank you Lord!

Blessings,

Caleb
