This week has been a wonderful example of how my life has truly changed now that I am working full time with the Dallas MK's. On Saturday our group did yard work in the community, which meant that we did a lot of raking of leaves, it was great to be able to join the team for the whole day! We got rained out in the afternoon and had to postpone the final two jobs until Monday afternoon. The picture above is the kids finishing up their final job weeding (finally no raking) for this wonderful missionary woman who has dedicated her life to serving the Lord.
We typically don't meet on days that the kids have off of school and since this was Spring Break for a lot of the kids in our group we didn't have a formal Monday night youth meeting, but we did meet informally and play games and had a lot of good fellowship (man I'm old when I say fellowship I mean we hung out or chilled out? I don't know we were locally present with one another and enjoyed verbal exchanges). It was great to have the time and energy to pour out into the community and into these amazing kids I've been called to serve.
This is where the magic happens :)... I'm very happy with my office and very grateful for it. I have slowly made this space my own. I have the prized possessions given me from my old job on my desk, my employee of the decade award, my signed shirt and my superman cups. The chair is blocking my superman mug. I also have my Rocky 4 picture next to my cowboys stadium picture, and a wonderful picture of my wife and kids! They are so amazing!
Creed has had this week off from school so I have spent a lot of the week hanging out with him and my other two munchkins. Finally Friday is here and another week is in the books, what a whirlwind it has been, but truly I'm bracing myself for the storm that April is going to be.
Prayers!
My in-laws are leaving soon and that means that Mark, my brother in law, will be moving in and possibly his brother David for a little while. Pray for smooth transition for all parties involved and for a safe trip for my in-laws back to the mission field.
I'm grateful that Mark is going to be around in April when I will be gone a lot. I have trips planned for every weekend in April, pray for safety and blessing as I go to share what I do with friends and family around the country, culminating in my trip to Africa at the end of the month.
Praises!
I'm so thankful for you! Your prayers and financial support are a huge encouragement to me and so many people have jumped in to help bring me closer to full support, I'm not there yet but I'm moving in the right direction and quickly!
Creed is doing much better, he did have an ear infection but it went away and I have my cheerful son back.
There is the proof that my wife is an amazing superhero! However, she could really use a hand when I'm gone on all these trips. So this is a praise for God giving me an amazing superhero wife and praise for the community that will help support her when I'm gone.
1 Corinthians 12:25-27
25God’s purpose was that the body should not be divided but rather that all of its parts should feel the same concern for each other. 26If one part of the body suffers, all the other parts share its suffering. If one part is praised, all the others share in its happiness. 27You are Christ’s body and each of you is an individual part of it.
I'm so blessed by you and grateful that we are one body, thanks for sending me, loving me, and serving me and thank you that I can do the same for you. We win and lose together and thanks to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ we have the victory when the day is done.
Blessings!
