COVID 19... Have you heard of it?

I can't believe that my own son is going to Jamaica!!!!

That was the last thing I Blogged before all this went down... and... well... maybe that will be true in 2021 but it certainly won't be this year. I have been so long in writing because I just haven't had the time :)... lol... that certainly is not true...

So how do I capture the last four months??? Not quite sure...

I have done lots of projects and perhaps some pictures will do them the most justice...

I have become an epic home school teacher. I took most of the homeschooling on my shoulders so that Diane could keep working!

I have lost some support but not as much as is possible and God keeps providing! My heart breaks for the financial burden this time has put on so many people!

All my trips have been cancelled for as far ahead as I can see. MK, although continuing on, is very different than it used to be. Like most of you, I have become adept at Zoom and have a great virtual background and everything.

During this time God has showed me that my worth is not in what I do but in who I be... I have struggled with purposelessness and boredom and depression and it has all come around to God is bigger! My contentment is locked in my identity as His son and I'm grateful for how he continues to remind me of that amazing truth.

So I'm plugging away trying to delight in my new normal and excited for what God is going to do next. "Spirit, lead me in the moment to moment" is my jam :). Some areas of life are back to some semblance of normal but mostly I'm just taking things day by day...

Highlights!

Coffee and devotions with Diane most mornings! Doing home church and growing in my relationships with my children. Watching movies outdoors and really enjoying Spring this year! Getting past school and learning and teaching lots of sign language. MK on Zoom two days a week and getting to know lots of MKs better and being able to include MKs from all over the world since none of us can be in the same place. Life slowing down and getting to rest up!

Thanks for being on my support team and for your prayers during this time. I'm excited to be in a place where I'm full of hope for the future again! God is just simply bigger and his purposes aren't going to be thwarted by any pandemic or racism... I want to grow more and more in how to receive my being from him and then to delight in the overflow of what that offers to me and those I know and love... the future is bright!

There used to be a compost pile here... now it has these awesome passion vines and serves as a great sitting area!

Jeremy helped me make a corn hole set! It's already gotten lots of good use! Also Jeremy has a pool and that has been a great time for the kids! What a stud :).

I'm learning to bake! I've made lots of bread and gotten much better at it... some of my attempts were not great though :) Also my hair is very long... man bun long :)... and I have epic beard braids :)

Who wouldn't want to have Zoom meeting from their hammock :)?

We have celebrated 4 birthdays since pandemic land... so fun! Diane is quite the cake maker!

Hammock for zoom and many sitting areas created and Easter egg hunt pandemic style... which is just really about normal...

I love this picture because it looks a little boring but represents a lot of hard work cleaning out my ally from trees and all kinds of nonsense. You can barely tell but I worked really hard to make it look this good :).
